Just of recent the German shoe manufacturer announce publicly its partnership with an environmental company  called Parley for the Oceans which is envisioned to reduce pollutions made to Oceans worldwide. Together they seek to manufacture eco-friendly sneakers made from wastes found in oceans.

“There’s very few technologies which would’ve allowed us to do that essentially,” Taylor explained. “Everything kind of aligned to allow us to get to this point today in such a short period of time. We knew we had the material, but we didn’t quite know exactly what we were going to receive.” Liedtke said.

The innovation was made known at the United Nations Climate Conference (UN). Adidas says theyll use polyesters, broken gill nets and recycled objects retrieved from the Ocean.

The Brand marketer for Adidas Eric Liedtke said "world leaders forging an agreement is wonderful, but we shouldnt need to be told to do the right thing. The industry cant afford to wait for directions any longer. Together with the network of Parley for the oceans, we have started taking actions and creating new sustainable materials and innovations for athletes. The 3D- Printed ocean plastic shoe midsole stands for how we can set new industry standards if we start questioning the reas on of what we create. We want to bring everyone from the industry to the table and create sustainable solutions for big global problems."

However, Adidas did not disclose when these 3D sneakers will be made available in the market.

There are more than 7 trillion waste deposited in the Ocean, this principle of "nothing go to waste" will definitely sanitize the world if more companies can follow suite.
